I never eat prunes until the weekend I had a shoulder operation on the 6 April on a lot of meds 12 tablets a day not counting my 40mg blood pressure tablet a day suffered with two or three day no bowel movement sick tummy not able to eat so went to the graves on Easter Sunday on our way home called to the local shop picked up fruit and I said I would try sunsweet california prunes pitted ready to eat I opened them I said I would try one than I tryed another one then I had a few more happy days I had a bowel movement a goof clean out. I will never b without them I will eat two or three a day and also on my shopping list. So hopefully I will b able to get them in Dunnes I got them in Centra in Clarina Co.   5. I have been eating 4 prunes every morning for some time now,
    Within a couple of hours they work. Plus, I feel I get a sugar rush to get me moving literaly, through out my day.
    I was concerned when passig stool, that there was a black substance in the stool. Wondered if, I was not digesting them properly?
    For many years, I have had Constipated issues, was told, it runs in the family. And I excepted that.

    I have 3 prunes and 200 mls of keffir. Each morning between 7am and 8am I evacuate my bowels.
    Every day my diet includes fresh berries, tumeric, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg and small hand of almonds and walnuts..
    I still consume every colour vegetable – not daily, but over 10 to 12 days.
    My apologies for such a ramble, however , I thought it may help other people to understand that we are what we eat.
    I believe if people understand how the body digests food and the role of all digestive organs may help them enjoy their food so much more.
    It’s always good to know WHY you ate eating .

    I have a constipation issue caused by medications. After using Miralax with a probiotic and experiencing a messy blowout, I decided to go natural with prune juice and prunes. I am very disappointed to see there is sorbitol in them both. Any of the “tol” sweeteners or medications cause me diarrhea. Don’t know why it is used. Here I thought my problem was solved in such an easy and healthy way. Now what?
